Those who know me know that I like to eat and that I can eat a lot! I also always like to discover new flavors. This is why I can advise you on the best restaurants that you can discover during your immersion stay with us. I also really like champagne, and I will therefore give you the names of the champagnes that we validated with Alex.
Bistrot Grand Boise
Let's start with my favourite: Le Bistrot Grand Boise. I'm not saying that because its location is just a 5 minutes walk from the house. Not at all! I love this place. I won't make you wait any longer and I'll explain why.
When you enter the bistrot, you enter a large space where you can taste the wines produced by Château Grand Boise. I like their wines because they are organic, fresh and just good actually. They will also soon be certified from biodynamic agriculture. In this space, there is also a shop where you can find different treats such as calissons.
If you go a little further, you will come to the restaurant with its terrace. The "1920s" decoration gives a refined and elegant side to the restaurant. You just feel like sitting down and have a drink. Since the Covid, the menu is in electronic format. When I'm with Alex, I like to have a table near the fountain. I also like the tapas space on the sofas or on the barrels outside when I join my circle of women. Two rooms, two atmospheres, two menus!
A special mention to Thibault and his team for their exceptional welcome. It was in Grand Boise that I celebrated my 40th birthday with a glass of Monial. One of my favorite champagnes.

Les Banettes
This restaurant has existed since 1950. Alice and her team welcome you to the restaurant with a fireplace in winter and to an outdoor hut in summer. The view over the Sainte-Victoire mountain is just magical. The first time we went there, we had just celebrated the 40th birthday of a couple of friends.
We did not test wines or champagnes that day. We had lunch in the straw hut, in the middle of the pine forest, listening to cicadas song. Very pleasant! The restaurant is on the side of the road. But we were not bothered by the noise of the cars. We were very well served. We will return to test the winter atmosphere and also try new recipes.
The menu at Les Bannettes restaurant varies from season to season. All products are regional and of high quality. During the summer there are musical evenings every Friday. The restaurant is a 5 minutes drive from the house. I also had always positive feedback from the students who went there.

Le Déjeuner sous l'arbre
This is one of the first restaurants where we dined with Alex when we arrived at Rousset. This is where I discovered Philiponnat champagne for our wedding anniversary. Is it my fault that there is so much to celebrate? No. We agree! We have always been very well advised. Weirdly enough, I never ate on the terrace. But it is of course possible under a magnificent bicentenary plane tree. Inside, the room whose walls are made of stone immediately seduced me. The cuisine is generous, and the chef is keen to give an artistic side to these dishes.

L'Eveil du goût
Highly renowned for its “bonne bouffe”, L’éveil du goût is often sold out. It happened several times that my students could not eat there for lack of places. So do not hesitate to book at the beginning of your immersion at home or your stay in Provence. The restaurant is located on the village square of Rousset. It is possible to have lunch indoors or outdoors depending on the season. In summer, you can reserve a table near the fountain. I love fountains… You get the idea, right?! There is also the possibility of taking a menu which I find good value for money.

If you come to my place for an immersion stay in Provence, I will make you discover the different aspects of Provence: the landscapes and the scents, but also the culture, the gastronomy... while helping you to improve your French. See you soon in Provence!
